Chronicles of a Dreamworker Newsletter, v.62 – Insights for Intuitive Living
Welcome Dreamers!
We all experience disappointment. What can help us rise above the feeling disappointment is detachment. That is definitely one of those “Easier said than done” tasks, though.
At the age of 40 it’s safe to say I’ve had my fair share of disappointments, and it would be naive to think it’ll ever stop. What has changed within me is how I view the word ‘no’ now.
Before, hearing the word ‘no’ was like letting a bomb go off in my brain. I’m a natural problem solver, lover of logic, and I always had the mentality that if there’s a will, there’s a way. For the most part that is true. Hearing the word ‘NO’ seemed so unnecessary at times when I knew things were possible otherwise. ‘No’ was a block, a brick wall, a closed gate to progress that I was constantly trying to find a way around.
Now that I’m older, and dare I say a tiny bit more mature, I realize that rejection doesn’t necessarily mean the situation is ending on a negative. As an artist and creative, I have heard to word no or been rejected dozens, dare I say hundreds of times at this point. There are those rejections that stand out and sting a little harsher than the rest, sure. But if I stayed so focused on the rejections, then I would’ve never made room for the wins to come into my life.
Hindsight is 20/20 as they say, but it really does help to look back and see where a closed door may have led you to another open one. Perhaps that new door opened up your path even farther than the first one could’ve. Sure, the new door is different, and not exactly what you thought you needed, but look at what you would’ve missed had you never had the chance to turn the doorknob!
I’ve even had dreams come true and met lifelong goals only to realize the journey is far from over, and the ending I thought I saw leads to yet another path. I’ve even received things I wanted only to realize what I actually wanted is still so much more.
A recent example: I used to livestream weekly for my Women of Woodworking project and I absolutely loved it. I’ve tried to pick it back up in other projects, but was told by my guides that writing was a better way to focus my energy, especially in spiritual pursuits.
Thinking enough time had passed and wanting to try something new, I tried to livestream an intuitive chat last week. I had an absolute ball, loved it! But despite checking the mic twice before I got started, when I went to play it back there was no sound.
Say less, Universe!
It was disappointing and hard to swallow because I really enjoyed it. All I want to do is connect with others and share about intuitive, magical psychic things all day long. I thought that a livestream series would be a perfect addition to my content strategy, but clearly it’s not meant to be. I’ve learned to trust Spirit when it speaks to me, and will keep focused on my writing – for now!
That’s another thing – everything is constantly changing. Our lives, our free will and how we interact with the Universe are always evolving. Just because it’s not a good fit right now doesn’t mean it’s a no forever. It could also mean that there is something even more perfectly suited for you around the corner. Thankfully I’ve lived long enough and learned enough to trust that the Universe indeed provides what we truly need, and that sometimes it’s even better than we could’ve imagined.
A great journal prompt would be to reflect on a time something didn’t go well, or you received a rejection that actually turned into something positive for you. This is an excellent way to start transmutation practice with the energies in your life too. Looking at something from a different angle can give you a whole new perspective, turn something negative into a positive, and help create a whole new path to take that you might not have found otherwise.
Intuitive Wooden Jewelry….
Wearing wooden jewelry helps me stay grounded and connected to nature no matter where I’m at. Wood still moves and reacts to us long after a tree is felled. Talking to the trees comes in many forms. Making jewelry is one of my favorite languages we speak together.

Each piece is handcrafted with Divine intentions using repurposed materials and offcuts from my husband’s furnituremaking business. You can see all of my offerings on my studio website, Black Swamp.
