Chronicles of a Dreamworker Series

I absolutely love working with cards, and since I’ve recently joined two tarot/oracle card circles, I really feel the call to learn more about tarot! I’ve brought out my deck, borrowed Tarot Made Easy by Kim Arnold from the bliss co-op library, and am going to study a card every day. I would also love to discuss these more with others, so I’ll share one cards a week and we can chat about them here!
First off, I love how I haven’t worked with my tarot deck in years, but it immediately started speaking to me louder than it ever had this time around. Perhaps it was just about the right timing for me.
The basics: The Tarot consists of 78 cards. 22 of which are classified as Major Arcana, and 56 as Minor Aracana. Major Arcana cards cover major themes in your life, and Minor Arcana help provide more details and guidance.
The first card I’m studying of the Major Arcana is aptly, The Fool. I really love this card as an eternal optimist myself. It gives me a lot of New Moon/new beginnings energy, but I appreciate that it can also represent a word of caution and preparedness.
Reversed of course represents more of what we associate with a fool – reckless and foolish.
I like that this card is making me think differently about what a “Fool” really is. Sometimes it’s beautiful naivete of youth or new beginnings, and not necessarily a bad thing. I can see a lot of myself in this card.
What are your thoughts on The Fool? Do you like working with it or no?
If you’re in the Charleston area, be sure to join us at bliss Spiritual Co-op on the first Saturday of every month for our oracle/tarot card circle! We have tea and bagels, and it’s free and open to all! Donations are welcomed. You can also borrow or purchase a new deck from bliss as well! You can get more info and RSVP here.
