Did you know that wheelchairs are real-life magic because they make the impossible possible for me and millions of people every day?
It’s true. My wheelchairs give me the freedom to travel independently, the ability to focus, stay safe, and enjoy life just like everyone else. So many of my dreams have come true with my chair being right there with me – including visiting @waltdisneyworld with my kiddos for the first time!
Today is International Wheelchair Day and it’s important that we raise awareness to help release stigmas and misconceptions around wheelchairs. They help people like me exist in an inaccessible world and push through those boundaries.
Inaccessibility is what is truly what’s holding us back, not our disabilities.✔️
There are so many issues wheelchair users face from air travel (27 wheelchairs are lost or damaged by US airlines PER DAY) to battling with insurance and repair services. Our chairs are our lives and legs and I won’t ever stop trying to help others understand how important our lives are as wheelchair users too.
