Chronicles of a Dreamworker Series

I love my intuitive work with cards, and I’ve recently felt the call to learn more about tarot. I’ve brought out my deck, borrowed Tarot Made Easy by Kim Arnold from the bliss co-op library, and am going to study a card every day. I would also love to discuss these more with others, so I’ll share one card a week and we can chat about them here!
This week’s card is Temperance.
The Temperance card evokes themes of balance, patience, and healing while reminding us that we have an active hand in making the decisions that determine the course of our lives.
In the physical imagery of the card Archangel Michael who is known for Divine protection is shown. He stands on the water’s edge with just his toes submerged. He is holding a chalice in each hand and it pouring water from one to another. Behind him there is a vibrant green mountain landscape with a sun shaped as a crown rising in the clear sky.
This imagery makes Temperance a great card to receive for self-healing. It reminds us that while moving with patience is a virtue, that we cannot put off making our choices for too long or we’ll be delayed. Sometimes we just need to dip our toes in, and see how the water feels before jumping in.
The Temperance card encourages patience and optimism, and to find confidence in any previous difficulties we may have faced. It can also signify a more positive period of health or recovery from illness. Reversed this card can signify imbalance or hostility.
Overall the Temperance card shows us that we can create the harmony we seek within our lives, and the we have all that we need within to make those desires a reality. It’s important to take time when making decisions, but to not avoid our responsibility to ourselves. It also reminds us that we are Divinely protected and guided on our paths as we make these decisions, and to put ourselves first when necessary.
