Let’s Learn Tarot – The Lovers

Chronicles of a Dreamworker Series

I love my intuitive work with cards, and I’ve recently felt the call to learn more about tarot. I’ve brought out my deck, borrowed Tarot Made Easy by Kim Arnold from the bliss co-op library, and am going to study a card every day. I would also love to discuss these more with others, so I’ll share one card a week and we can chat about them here!

This week’s card is The Lovers.

What’s not to love about The Lovers? The bright, colorful imagery of this card immediately catches the eye and the heart. Adam and Eve are positioned in front of the Tree of Life and the Tree of Forbidden Fruit, respectively. This represents vulnerability within ourselves and our Divine connection. I feel like it reminds me to stay open to who I am at my purest truth in love.

There is also a mountain in the distance and they stand on green grasses, a reminder to remain grounded even if your head is in the clouds with love. This grounded foundation presently and in the distance represents stability and everlasting strength in your bonds. Above the lovers is Archangel Raphael, the angel of Divine healing and love. The Sun shines down on Raphael’s outstretched arms and wings.

If you can’t tell already I absolutely adore this card and what it represents! Sure, it can appear when we are looking for a new relationship or hoping to deepen an existing one. It also reminds us to love ourselves and to choose our well-being in commitment and long-term situations or relationships.

It’s also a reminder to not let neglect or envy interrupt your present moments. It can also represent topics or issues with close family relations. Reversed it can represent disharmony and even separation or detachment.

Overall The Lovers is a card of commitment, love, harmony, joy and passion. It’s a card of unity and support. It reminds us to call on Archangel Raphael for guidance with love, or when Divine healing is needed.

If you’re in the Charleston area, be sure to join us at bliss Spiritual Co-op on the first Saturday of every month for our oracle/tarot card circle! We have tea and bagels, and it’s free and open to all! Donations are welcomed. You can also borrow or purchase a new deck from bliss as well! You can get more info and RSVP for our upcoming September 5 circle here.
