Mediumship Experiences, Pt. 2…
Welcome back to more stories from my mediumship journey! If you’d like to start at the beginning, you can read Pt. 1 here.
In short, I have an interest in American History and live near the Eutaw Springs, South Carolina battle site. It was the last major southern battle in the American Revolution before the British defeat and surrender at Yorktown, Virginia only a few weeks after.
One day, I am pondering if a soldier could actually make the journey from Eutaw Springs, SC all the way to Yorktown, VA in mere weeks during the fall of the late 18th century…and then I hear the name, “Jonas” in my head.
I was sitting in my living room and was really unsure of what had just happened. “Did Spirit just give me a name of someone who fought in both battles states away and made that journey? With such specificity? 250 years later?!” I thought. There was only one way to find out.
I sat down to search online and received immediate confirmation. I was introduced to Jean Baptiste “Jonas” Chaison, R.S. His pension records and obituary mention his wounding at Eutaw Springs, only to recover and fight under General Layfayette in Yorktown a few weeks later. He survived the war and was later buried in Beaumont, Texas.
What. The. What?
Like I said before, I cant explain how it happened. I seemingly received his name out of thin air in direct answer to my thought and questions. To receive immediate validation like that as well, with such specificity, it still surpasses my understanding. My heart began racing and I knew there was much more to this connection than it being a simple fluke. Suddenly, so much in my life leading up to this point made sense.
Since childhood I’ve spent hours and days chasing down stories, facts, names, and dates in American history books. From museum visits to weekend nights spent on the Library of Congress website there has always been something calling me, driving me to keep researching, to keep connecting, to keep finding reflections of experiences in the history books that resonated and made my heart race with excitement.
That was the same feeling I was having now, discovering Jonas Chaison. He had graciously reached out to me across the ages of time to tell me his name, share his story, and finally connect me energetically to history in the ways I’d always felt.
It was still hard to believe, even if it was a one-time thing. I really hoped that it was just the beginning, though. Little did I know.

Rhombus Symbolism…
Have you ever seen a Rhombus or diamond-like symbol in your dreams or meditations? Here’s what it could mean for you!
