“WRITE”

For as long as I could hold a pencil I was told that I was a writer, and somewhere along the way I started to believe it too. I’ve always loved sharing stories as both the listener and the giver. That’s truly what stories feel like to me – a gift.

It was through writing that I also realized that I saw the world differently from most people. I could feel things that other people couldn’t, and sense things that weren’t spoken out loud but rather hanging in the ether. To me they were as obvious as the clouds in the sky. To everyone else the only thing obvious was that I was a weirdo.

I always loved writing poetry especially. It felt like a safe space to search my feelings and world in the exact way I had experienced it. If there is one thing in my life I’ve wished I’ve written more of, it’s poetry.

So I am. And along with expanding my creative digital journal Pen & Chisel I am restarting my personal blog here. I want to encourage others to embrace their own voices, so hopefully by embracing mine others will feel compelled to do the same.

I don’t have any specific purpose here, other than to just write. In a world that is besieged by the constant questioning of our humanity and relationships to the world and each other, I am ready to have a project that just is. My thoughts. What I want to talk about that day. I have so many projects with purpose and focus. This will fully be my space to just be.

I am so excited to get started, yet I have no idea what I will write about next. That’s such a freeing feeling. I do feel like this will be a great space for my to talk about the spiritual side of my life that has inspired and carried me through the highest highs and the darkest lows of my life. I am trusting in spirit to guide me, and working to continually trust that what is meant to be will be. I’ve seen it happen enough times before and my faith is a part of me, therefore there is no need to doubt.

Thank you for reading this far and I hope that we will continue to connect with each other in ways that feel supportive and enriching.

Until tomorrow!
